Assistant/Associate Professor of Marriage and Family Therapy (002120-2008)

The Department of Child Development and Family Studies at Purdue University School invites applications at the Assistant and Associate level for a tenure-track faculty position in Marriage and Family Therapy beginning August 2009.

Requirements: The successful candidate will be expected to initiate, conduct, and publish research, secure internal and external funding, teach graduate and undergraduate courses, and engage in service and outreach activities.  Evidence of teaching excellence, research productivity, and potential to secure external funding is required.

Qualifications: Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) or related discipline, eligible for clinical membership in the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), eligible for MFT license in Indiana, and Approved Supervisor Candidate.

Assistant or Associate Professor of Financial Counseling and Planning (002094-2008)

The Department of Consumer Sciences and Retailing of Purdue University is seeking an Assistant/Associate Professor of Financial Counseling and Planning (tenure-track).

Requirements: Teach undergraduate courses in financial counseling and planning.  Specific assignments are flexible.  Develop additional graduate level courses.  Conduct and publish quality research; supervise master and doctoral students; serve on department, college, and university committees; and collaborate with faculty across the University to build unique and innovative discovery learning programs.

Qualifications: Earned doctorate in economics or finance, or related field.  Potential for research excellence is highly important.  Previous teaching experience desirable.  Ability to bring in external funding is a plus.

Director, Coordinated Program in Dietetics, Asst/Assoc/Full Professor (002070-2008)

Requirements: Responsibilities are to plan, direct, maintain, and evaluate the CPD to meet Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) requirements; conduct independent and/or collaborative research and maintain active publication in peer reviewed journals; teach supervised practice portion of CPD curriculum and other courses as needed; manage dietetics program assistant (MS/RD) in the duties of coordinating supervised practice experiences in multiple facilities; maintain professional profile of activities related to research agenda and the CPD; participate in departmental recruitment, advising, and outreach activities; and participate in department, school and university committees as assigned and/or elected.

Qualifications: Ph.D. degree in Nutrition or related field and R.D. credential.  Independent and/or collaborative research program.  Experience and competence in college level teaching and dietetics is desirable.

Head of the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management (002059-2008)

The Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management (www.cfs.purdue.edu/HTM) at Purdue University is seeking a visionary, high energy, and pragmatic Department Head.

Requirements:  Provide leadership for a group of 28 multi-talented and diverse faculty and other professionals toward a common goal of excellence in discovery, learning and engagement. Represent the department at the university, local, state and national levels including state and local government, industry, and professional organizations.

Qualifications: The candidate must have an earned doctorate, a distinguished record of significant research, professional service, and effective learning.  In order to achieve the goals of HTM, industry experience is a vital part of a portfolio of accomplishments.  The candidate should have demonstrated effective leadership including but not limited to, vision for hospitality education, the ability to influence others, strong communication, administrative and interpersonal skills, and a strong interest (and effectiveness) in corporate and alumni development.  The candidate must currently hold the rank of full professor and/or have the credentials appropriate for rank of full professor at Purdue University.

The Department of Consumer Sciences and Retailing of Purdue University is seeking an Assistant/Associate Professor of Selling and Sales management (tenure track).

Associate Dean (001940-2007)

The College of Consumer and Family Sciences is searching for and Associate Dean for Diversity and International Programs from within the college.  This is a 0.25-0.50 FTE position which has primary responsibility for leadership in diversity and international programs in the college and serves as the liaison with departmental and university programs and staff in these areas.  The overall goals of the position are to develop and grow discovery, learning and engagement programs that enhance the climate in and diversity of the college, and build awareness of cultural and global differences for students, faculty, and staff.  The associate dean works closely with faculty and staff to meet these objectives.  Duties include developing and promoting internal and external support for programs and working with the Office of the Vice President for Human Relations and the Office of the Dean of International Programs.  Other responsibilities include representing the college on university-level committees, implementation of special projects within CFS and other duties as assigned.  The associate dean also represents the dean at certain University functions.

Qualifications: It is preferable that candidates for this position will have attained the rank of professor in the College of Consumer and Family Sciences.  Advance associate professors who are near promotion will also be considered.  Successful candidates must have an interest in and a demonstrated commitment to diversity and international programs, along with developing leadership and administrative skills in higher education.

The Department of Child Development and Family Studies at Purdue University invites applications for multiple tenured or tenure-track positions at the assistant or associate professor level with specialization in family studies starting August 2007.  We are particularly interested in building on our strengths in families and health (including mental health), work and family, family policy, and related areas.  We seek candidates whose research and teaching in the area of family studies will make a substantive contribution to the department of Child Development & Family Studies at Purdue.  All interested family or relationships researchers should apply.
