Purdue Extension has career openings for exceptional individuals to serve as Extension Educators.  Purdue Extension is a service tailored to meet the educational needs of Indiana.  Extension Educators, Specialists, and Volunteers live and work in all 92 Indiana counties.  Extension provides the link between Land Grant research and Indiana citizens.  The Extension Educator’s role is to assess community needs and to create programs that inform and educate citizens. Through Extension educational programs, Extension Educators provide practical solutions to peoples’ problems and address local issues.

Purdue Extension covers four program areas:

 

Agriculture and Natural Resourcesencompasses Agricultural Competitiveness, Alternate and Value-Added Agriculture, Urban and Suburban Needs and Environmental Preservation and Natural Resource Utilization.

 

Consumer and Family Sciencesencompasses Human Development, Family Relationships, Family Resource Management and Nutrition and Healthy Living.

 

4-H Youth Developmentencompasses Leadership and Life-Skill Training, Volunteer Development and 4-H clubs and Fair.

 

Economic and Community Developmentencompasses Economic Development, Government Financing and Community Improvement.
