The U.S. Department of Justice created the video “Understanding & Abiding by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act” (Title VI/EJ) to address Title VI/EJ issues that employees may encounter daily in transportation environments. Because the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) is committed to ensuring that projects, programs and services are performed without discrimination, all NJDOT employees who come into general contact with the public are encouraged to watch the video.

The fascinating scenarios and corrective measures explain how the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (42 U.S.C. 200d), related statutes and regulations provide that all persons, regardless of race, color, national origin, gender, or disability should be able to participate and receive benefits under any federally-funded transportation program or activity without discrimination.
