The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA)
came into force on May 4, 1998. The Act applies to public bodies,
including provincial government departments and agencies, as well
as local public bodies (as of April 3, 2000), which consist of educational,
health care and local government bodies. The Act governs access to
information held by public bodies and sets out requirements that public
bodies must follow to protect the privacy of personal information.
This section of the web site contains documents and information pertaining
