The
Daily Audio Weather Briefing (Click Here)
The Daily Audio Weather Briefing is produced each morning at around
10 AM by expert Meteorologists from the National Weather Service in
Brownsville, and is an audio file (mp3 format) that can be downloaded
by the user and played using multimedia computer software.
The purpose of this recording is to provide information
to the listener (example: primarily spotters and emergency managers)
about weather that is forecast to affect the region for a period of
seven days from the recording date.
A heavy emphasis is placed on the current days weather,
and the recording shall explain, in broad and primarily non-technical
terms, what weather features are expected to affect the region, as well
as what specific weather hazards may result from these features (flooding,
tornadoes, excessive heat, severe thunderstorms, tropical weather, fog,
rip currents).
