Bay Delta Conservation Plan EIR/EIS

scenic delta Overview
DWR is currently evaluating the environmental impacts of the Bay Delta Conservation Plan (BDCP). The BDCP's purpose is to provide for the conservation of at-risk species in the Delta and improve its reliability as the hub of the state's water supply system.

A joint Environmental Impact Report (EIR)/Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for BDCP is being prepared. DWR will serve as the lead agency under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and will work in cooperation with the federal lead and co-lead agencies: the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, the National Marine Fishery Service and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

The draft EIR/EIS is expected to be ready for public review and comment by early 2010. View the proposed schedule. Or read some frequently asked questions about the environmental review process. DWR will host public meetings throughout the environmental review process. Listed below is more information on public meetings conducted to date.
