Bridger Plant Materials Center Bridger, MTEstablished 1959

Since 1959, the Bridger Plant Materials Center has provided plant solutions for the diverse ecosystems of Montana and Wyoming. The Center has released a number of conservation plants including ‘Rimrock’ indian ricegrass, ‘Critana’ thickspike wheatgrass, ‘Bridger-select’ Rocky Mountain juniper, ‘Trailhead’ basin wildrye and Old Works Germplasm fuzzytongue penstemon. The Center has developed new plant solutions for extending livestock grazing periods; low-water landscaping; restoring woody plants to native range; propagating threatened species and culturally significant plants; and reclaiming disturbed areas from mining, wildfire and road construction.
