FY-2004 Conservation Program Allocations to States
These maps show the amounts distributed to
Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) State offices for operating five
conservation programs in fiscal year 2004: Environmental Quality Incentives
Program, Farm and Ranch Lands Protection Program, Grassland Reserve Program, Wetlands Reserve Program,
and Wildlife Habitat Incentives Program.
These programs were reauthorized in the Farm Security and Rural Investment Act
of 2002 (Farm Bill). Through these programs, NRCS helps farmers, ranchers, and
other landowners plan and implement conservation measures to solve natural
resource concerns on their operations, maintain and improve agricultural land,
and protect the environment.

technical assistance to landowners to address wetland, wildlife habitat,
water quality, and related natural resource concerns on their land in an
environmentally sound and cost-effective manner.
