NACD's mission is to serve conservation districts by providing national leadership and a unified voice for natural resource conservation.

District Excellence Awards

Summary:  The District Excellence Awards recognize conservation districts that address the diverse needs of their community’s customer base and resource needs.  The winning conservation districts will prove to be exceptionally successful at specifically addressing one of the following program or policy areas:

Please note that these are the new categories for the District Excellence Awards which reflect the focus of the five NACD Foundation Committees.

Emphasis will be placed on the success that the district has had in achieving Program and Policy goals while incorporating effective initiatives to address Outreach and Diversity.

Eligibility:  Any conservation district is eligible to receive this award.

Selection:  The award recipients of each category will be selected by the NACD Awards Committee and a representative from NRCS, NASCA, NCDEA, and NARC&DC.

Number Awarded:  1 award will be presented in each policy area (5 awards total).

Award:  Each award recipient will be honored at the Annual Meeting in New Orleans in February.  They will receive one single day complimentary registration to the meeting and a check for $1,300.  A representative from the district will also be invited to participate in a presentation about the district’s successes at the Annual Meeting.  They will also be recognized in NACD Publications and on the website.
