The House Committee on the Rules will conduct an OPEN hearing to consider rules for floor debate on the following pending legislation: HR 1141, a bill making emergency supplemental appropriations for FY99; HR 472, a bill to amend title 12, U.S. Code, to require the use of post census local review as part of each decennial census. No DoD witnesses are scheduled to appear.

The Senate Committee on Appropriations, Subcommittee on Military Construction will conduct an OPEN hearing on Fiscal 2000 Army and Air Force Military Construction overview. Witnesses include Dr. Edward Warner, Assistant Secretary of Defense for Strategy and Threat Reduction; Dr. Jay Davis, Director, DTRA; Rose Gottmueller, Director, Office of Nonproliferation and National Security, DoE; Sen.
