The Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources will conduct an OPEN/ MAY CLOSE hearing on damage to the national security from alleged Chinese espionage at Energy Department nuclear weapons laboratories. Witnesses: John Browne, Director, Los Alamos National Laboratory; Bruce Tarter, Director, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory; and Paul Robinson, Director, Sandia National Laboratory.

The Senate Committee on Armed Services, Subcommittee on Seapower will conduct a CLOSED hearing on Submarine Warfare in the 21st century. Witnesses include Rear Admiral Malcolm I. Fages, USN, Director, Submarine Warfare; Rear Adm. Lowell E. Jacoby, USN, Director of Naval Intelligence; Rear Adm. Paul F. Sullivan, USN, Director, Deep Submergence Branch; Mr. Edgar W. Tullar, Jr., Director, Program Budget; and Captain Michael J. Cregge, USN, Director of Operational Support Division. This is a continuation of the April 14, 1999 Seapower Subcommittee hearing.
