WASHINGTON, Jan. 28, 2005 An improvised explosive device detonated at about 2 p.m. today in southern Baghdad, Iraq, killing one Task Force Baghdad soldier and wounding three others.
Two of the wounded soldiers were evacuated to a military medical treatment facility. The third was treated and returned to duty. In another incident about 15 minutes later in northern Baghdad, small-arms fire killed another Task Force Baghdad soldier. The soldiers' names are withheld until next of kin are notified.
