Bernard Rostker, special assistant for Gulf War illnesses, will release the latest case narratives related to the ongoing investigation into the possible causes of Gulf War illnesses, at 11 a.m. (EDT) on Thursday, September 25, 1997 in Pentagon briefing studio, Room 2E781.
One narrative focuses on reports by U.S. Marines of suspected Iraqi chemical warfare agent use during combat operations to retake the Kuwaiti Air Base of Al Jaber Feb. 24 through Feb. 26, 1991.
The other narrative is on reported chemical agent detections by the U.S. Marines at an ammunition supply point located southwest of Kuwait International Airport March 1, 1991.
The narratives will be made available in the Directorate for Defense Information, at 10 a.m. on the day of the briefing.
Media or couriers without Pentagon access should use the Pentagon's Mall Entrance (not the Metro entrance) and call 697-5131/5134 from the telephone adjacent to the entrance security guard post to arrange for pick up/delivery of a copy of the narrative.
The document will also be accessible via the Internet at www.gulflink.osd.mil after 11 a.m. the day of the briefing.
