New Jersey Lottery funds benefit Education and Institutions. The New Jersey Lottery returned approximately 36 cents of every dollar to support State-sponsored programs. FY’07 sales translated into $828.3 million in funding for: community colleges, Department of Human Services, Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, Department of Agriculture School Nutrition Program, and the Marie Katzenbach School for the Deaf.
The following are a sample of participants in, and beneficiaries of programs supported by Lottery revenues:
The New Jersey Council of County Colleges is the coordinating organization for the State’s nineteen community colleges whose mission is to provide New Jersey residents with a high quality education at a reasonably low cost.
HESAA provides students and families with the financial and informational resources for students to pursue their education beyond high school.
Equal Opportunity Program begins for eligible students the summer before their college freshman year and helps provide educational support and assistance for program participants.
The New Jersey Lottery is proud of its contribution to education and institutions such as those mentioned above. Every time someone enjoys the fun and entertainment of playing the lottery, someone else benefits through participation in these Lottery-supported State-sponsored programs.
