Genetic Testing

We seek to enhance the quality and utility of genetic laboratory services by:
facilitating the development and offering of educational and training programs within the public health and healthcare workforce
bringing public and private sector groups together to address issues directed at improving the quality of laboratory services
providing opportunities in our Office for students and visiting professionals to further develop their careers
Communication
Efforts are underway to improve communication between the clinical care and laboratory communities in the ordering and reporting of genetic tests and results. This issue and follow up actions were discussed at a meeting that was co-hosted by Mt. Sinai School of Medicine and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on May 2-3, 2003.
