Planning Resources
Besides promoting safety information and mobility opportunities for pedestrians, the New Jersey Department of Tranportation (NJDOT) is responsible for the plan and design of pedestrian facilities on New Jersey highways.
NJDOT offers engineering guidelines, a Master Plan for roadways that are compatible with pedestrians and a resource center for statewide projects.

This is a searchable collection of completed projects from across the state. Posted information includes the type of facility, its location and when it was built. It also includes how the project was funded and difficulties that may have arisen during its planning, design or construction.

New Jersey Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan
Phase Two of the Bicycle and Pedestrian Masterplan will develop an inventory of existing bicycle facilities; provide a list of priority locations for bicycle and pedestrian improvements; and outline opportunities for improving the bicycle or pedestrian compatibility of existing projects.
Bicycle and Pedestrian Resource Project
An information clearinghouse and technical resource center that identifies significant bicycle and pedestrian plans, policies and projects throughout New Jersey.
