MEMORANDUM FOR CORRESPONDENTS

Members of the U.S. Central Command will participate in a command post exercise involving multinational forces and hosted by the Kuwaiti Armed Forces beginning on December 1.

Exercise Ultimate Resolve 95 is designed to examine coalition warfighting issues associated with the defense of the Arabian Peninsula. This exercise is part of an ongoing exercise program that is designed to demonstrate the continuing U.S. commitment to the security and stability of the region. It also provides an opportunity for participating forces to share military expertise and increase their ability to operate together. Ultimate Resolve 95 will end on December 7.

As a command post exercise, there will be no operational forces involved. Approximately 40 staff members of the U.S. Central Command headquarters and its components will participate.

The U.S. exercise director is Central Command's Director of Operations, Maj. Gen. Joseph E. Hurd, USAF, under the direction of the Commander in Chief, U.S. Central Command.
