Secretary of the Army Togo D. West Jr., departed Korea today, continuing a
seven-day trip throughout the Pacific to visit soldiers, leaders and family
members stationed in various commands and activities.
West is scheduled to visit forces and installations in Japan, the Philippines
and Hawaii. While in the Philippines, West will participate in events
commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the liberation of Corregidor.
While in Korea, West visited with soldiers and leaders of United States Forces
Korea (USFK), Eighth U.S. Army and the 2nd Infantry Division (Mechanized).
West will return from the Pacific February 17.
