Clinical Reminder: Preventing Vector-Borne Diseases

With the summer season in full swing and outdoor activities are common, please remember to discuss the use of insect repellents with your patients. This is also of concern in the areas of our country recently affected by flooding. Insect repellent can help prevent mosquito-borne diseases such as West Nile Virus and Eastern equine encephalitis as well as tick-borne diseases such as Rocky Mountain spotted fever and Lyme disease.
