The Investigations Section of the NIH Police is staffed by
trained plain clothes detectives whose mission is to conduct
investigations into criminal activities that occur
on the NIH campus. These detectives conduct extensive criminal
investigations leading to the prosecutions of serious criminal
offenses. Detectives follow-up leads and tips,
conduct surveillance, process crime scenes and conduct interviews
and interrogations. The Investigation Section follows-up on
cases that cannot be resolved by the
preliminary investigation. Detectives work closely with other
federal, state and local law enforcement agencies.
