Small Scale Meadow Restoration Experimental Burns Planned--
First Today at Baldwin

South Lake Tahoe, CA. --US Forest Service personnel will be conducting a small scale experimental meadow burn in the Baldwin Beach area of the Lake Tahoe Basin today. A small 10 x 10 meter plot will have a short duration, low intensity burn applied as part of a larger project to examine the relationships between climate change, fire and non-native species invasion into meadows of the Tahoe Basin.

Additional experimental meadow burns are planned for Meeks Meadow, Slaughterhouse Meadow and Edgewood Meadow in the near future.
