Mission

The National Center for Child Death Review is a resource center for state and local CDR programs, funded by the Maternal and Child Health Bureau. It promotes, supports and enhances child death review methodology and activities at the state, community and national levels.

Center Services

All services are available via site visits, email and phone.

  • Technical assistance to help teams develop, implement and sustain a prevention focused CDR process.
  • Training for state and local teams.
  • Strategic planning and program development for state and local teams.
  • Consultation to coordinate with other reviews, including fetal and infant mortality, domestic violence, serious injury, and maternal mortality.
  • Support for the network of CDR program leaders.
  • Linkage of CDR programs to state and national maternal and child health and injury programs.

The National Center for Child Death Review Steering Committee

The National Center for Child Death Review Steering Committee was established in 2005 to assist the Center in meeting its mission in the following areas:

  • Translating Review Findings into Child Health and Safety Policy and Practice
  • Maximizing Partnerships for Child Death Review and Prevention
  • Expanding the Capacity of the National Center
  • Building Sustainability for Child Death Review
