Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) QUERI
Overview
The VA Quality Enhancement Research Initiative (QUERI) was launched in 1998. QUERI is founded on the principle that practice needs should inform VA's research agenda, and research results should identify interventions that improve the quality of patient care. Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) is one of ten conditions selected to be part of the QUERI effort.
The central mission of Spinal Cord Injury QUERI is the promotion of patient health, functioning, and quality of life, through the implementation of evidence-based methods for enhancing patient self-management and disease prevention in the context of multidisciplinary care. Our primary areas of focus are respiratory health and pressure ulcers. Additionally, we are exploring the potential for implementation research in the areas of obesity, pain, depression, and physical function/mobility.
