2006 VHA ACA National Champion Team Award
Endoscopy Team

The VISN 9 Louisville VAMC Endoscopy Team identified opportunities for improving access to colorectal cancer care. As a result, the 10-key changes of Advanced Clinical Access (ACA) were used to take advantage of these opportunities and maximize the efficiency of the Endoscopy Section. Supply and demand were analyzed and a service agreement was created that prioritizes veterans who are at higher risk for colorectal cancer. After implementing each of the key changes, significant accomplishments were realized by the Endoscopy Team. Veterans are now able to have a colonoscopy completed within 30 days of being identified as high-risk. This leads to improved care and better outcomes.

2005 VISN 9 Performance Award

The Louisville VAMC is proud to have been awarded the VISN 9 "Best Performance" award for Fiscal Year 2005.
