The Mountain Home VA Medical Center currently has a VA RR&D Research Enhancement Award Program in auditory and vestibular dysfunction.
Notable Achievements
Among the more notable achievements are those of Dr. Richard H. Wilson, who is known internationally for his research in the area of speech perception of individuals with hearing impairment. Dr. Wilson is the only Senior Research Career Scientist at the Mountain Home VAMC, a prestigious honor bestowed to a select few who have international recognition in their scientific community and who have contributed significantly to the VA research program. He also currently serves as a mentor for three RR&D Research Career Development Awardees.
Mountain Home VAMC investigator Dr. Ronald Hamdy is well known for his pioneering research in osteoporosis. He holds the Cecile Cox Quillen Chair of Excellence in Geriatric Medicine and Gerontology at East Tennessee State University. Dr. Hamdy was conferred an esteemed Award for Excellence in Research by the American Geriatrics Society for his scientific contributions.
