About the Program

The James H. Quillen VAMC Mountain Home Pharmacy Service provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care to both outpatient and inpatient veterans.  The pharmacy processes over 3,000 prescriptions daily;  these prescriptions are filled both locally and via a Consolidated Mailout Pharmacy.

Information on New and Refill Prescription Processing

New Prescriptions

New prescriptions may be picked up from the pharmacy the day written or mailed to the patient.  Patients should inform their provider if they wish to pick up medications; otherwise the prescription will be mailed.  Prescriptions for antibiotics should be picked up from the pharmacy on the day written.

Internet Refill Prescriptions may also be filled online using VA's My HealtheVet program. You will need a user id and password to log in. If you do not have one, you can easily get one by creating your personal profile.

Refills Prescriptions

Refill prescriptions are mailed, and are generally NOT processed for immediate window pickup.  Patients should send or call in refill requests at least 2 weeks before they are needed. Refill prescriptions may be requested using the VA's Internet program My HealtheVet.  Take the "Virtual Tour" and register at the website, then click on "My Care", then "My Prescriptions", then click on "Refill Prescriptions".

Refills may also be requested by sending in refill slips or a sheet of paper with the veteran's name, SSN, and listing the Rx Number and the name of medication(s) to the following address:
