Employment Opportunities at COLMR
(01/09/08) Healthcare research analyst
The Center for Organization, Leadership, and Management Research (COLMR) is a Center of Excellence within the Department of Veterans Affairs Health Services and Research and Development Service. We seek two research analysts with strong command of SAS, and preferably other statistical software packages (STATA, LISREL, HLM). Experience working with large data sets is preferred. The ideal candidate will have graduate-level training in research methods and statistical procedures, and some experience administering web-based surveys. A background in health services research or public health is preferred. Major re-sponsibilities include:
- Executing data analyses, primarily in SAS.
- Working with investigators to select the appropriate statistical techniques needed to analyze study data and test hypotheses.
- Developing and executing sampling plans.
- Setting up and maintaining project databases.
- Designing and maintaining systems to ensure the uniform quality of large secondary databases.
- Developing data management protocols to ensure quality and accessibility.
- Contributing to the conceptual foundations of project development and execution.
- Preparing graphic, tabular and written summaries of results of statistical analyses for internal reports, grant applications, and papers submitted for publications.
- Preparing feedback reports for distribution to medical centers and other administra-tive units that participate in research studies.
Excellent communication skills, organizational skills, creativity, teamwork skills and attention to detail are required.
