Are you interested in a challenging career working on
our Nation's vital energy resource development issues in these critical
times? The Minerals Management Service's (MMS) Offshore Energy and
Minerals Management Program is in the forefront of these issues and we
need talented individuals to help us fulfill our mission.
As part of the U.S. Department of the Interior, we are
devoted to protecting and preserving our Nation's resources while
balancing our energy resource needs. We are seeking individuals who
share our passion for these resources and the country's energy future
and security.
How Can I Help?
Our needs are many and varied--from engineers, marine
biologists, geologists, environmental specialists, program analysts,
statisticians and
economists--to name just a few.
The work of OEMM includes
the preparation and administration of regular offshore oil and gas lease
sales, supporting research and documentation leading up to each lease
sale.
One
of the newest and most exciting programs administered by OEMM is the
relatively new
Alternative Energy and Alternate Use Program--alternatives such
as wind power, wave and current power, and solar energy.
This is an extremely important and exhilarating time for
OEMM--we need the best and the brightest to achieve our goals, meet our
mission requirements and perhaps most importantly, ensure that we do all
we can to securely recover America's energy resources offshore.
Who is MMS and what is the Offshore Energy & Minerals
Management Program?
The
Minerals Management
Service is the agency of the U.S Department of the Interior that is
responsible for leasing and managing our Nation’s oceans for oil and
natural gas development and for other mineral and energy uses.
