Request books, reports and videos by one of these
methods:
Use the library catalog.
- Login (link in the upper right) with your LANL Z# and cryptocard.
- Find a title you are interested in and click on the link next to "CLICK FOR STATUS"
(looks like
MAIN Z695.24 .C38 2002 or REPT: LA-UR-02-4)
- Click on the Request Item link (at the left of the item holdings display, in the Status/Due Date column)
- The system will display a confirmation message, or will let you know if there
is a problem.
Use the online Request Form.
- Enter your Z number
- Type or copy the information from the catalog, New Book List or other source
Send an e-mail message to the Research Library.
- Copy the information from the catalog, New Book List or other
source
- Mail it, along with your name and Z number, to library@lanl.gov.
Call the Library Service Desk at 667-5809.
What happens next:
- if the book is on the shelf, it will be checked out to you and sent via inter-office
mail. Or, you can also request that it be held in the library for pick-up, and
to be notified by e-mail or phone.
- if the book is not on the shelf, a hold will be placed, that is, your name
will be placed on a waiting list, and the book will be sent to you when it becomes
available.

Books can be returned by interoffice mail to MS P362.
NOTE: This procedure applies also to reports, video and audiocassettes.
