FIND AN APPEAL
ADMINISTRATIVE APPEAL
DECISIONS
Forest Service line officers make many resource management decisions
each year. Many of these decisions are subject
to administrative appeal. Usually, all
administrative processes established by the Secretary of Agriculture
or required by law must be exhausted before a person may bring
a court action associated with planning decisions. There are several different regulations under which appeals may be made. Pre-decisional objections can be filed on Healthy Forest Restoration Act projects; see http://www.fs.fed.us/objections/objections_list.php. All other administative reviews are appeals; see http://www.fs.fed.us/appeals/appeals_list.php.
All appeals and objections from 2006 on have been posted to these national sites.
A list of each of these regulations and an explanation of their use can be found at: http://www.fs.fed.us/appeals/appeals_related.php and http://www.fs.fed.us/objections/objections_related.php.
