The Office of the State Historian is a division within the State Records Center and Archives. The mission of the Office of the State Historian is to lead in advancing an understanding and appreciation of New Mexico’s history and culture through interpretive research, outreach, educational programming, presentation and publication. State Historian Dr. Estevan Rael-Gálvez and Assistant State Historian Dr. Dennis Trujillo staff the office.
