Coastal Storms Program Oregon Coastal Inundation Visualization ToolCoastal Oregon is impacted by coastal storms that have caused erosion, flooding, and other impacts to communities. To improve forecasting and observation capabilities, and to assist in preparation for and awareness of coastal storms, the Oregon Coastal Inundation Visualization Tool was developed. This tool uses real-time data to project potential wave inundation along the ocean shore near Tillamook, Oregon. This information can be used to evaluate the potential for erosion and establish appropriate setback distances along coastal margins for the safe establishment of homes and other infrastructure. The tool is intended for use by state and local planning and permitting agencies, transportation managers, emergency response agencies, researchers, and the public. The Tools
