Keys to a successful, on-time printing job: |
- Required changes are completed.
- Manuscripts of over 90 pages must be perfect-bound, i.e. they require a spine. Authors should submit text for the spine,
which in some cases will have to be a shortened title due to space limitations of the spine.
- Title page and Cover design can be done by the Graphics Office on site for a fee.
- All pages are numbered. A pagination form should be provided. Form available below. If not, this service can be provided by the Publications
Office for a charge.
- All NOAA series papers must include a Table of Contents.
- A Publication Clearance Request Form (CD-27) must be submitted. by clients to request printing.. It is imperative that all NOAA offices desiring to publish informational items start the CD-27 process at least 72 HOURS before
the item is to go to Government Printing Office.
|
- Copy should be provided on CD or Diskette in PDF format or MSWord. The Publications
Office offers guidelines for document preparation. (See Printing from Computer Files, below.)
- If hard copy is provided,
- separate sections, such as appendices and chapters, should begin on the facing, uneven-numbered page which may require inserting
a blank sheet.
- Papers have been checked for erroneous marks, smudges, wrinkles or tears.
- Landscape pages are oriented with the bottom of the page toward the right.
- Rush orders will produce an increase in final cost of at least 7.5% up to as much as 15%.
