Arrest of Robert
Jacobs

Marshals Service has arrested Robert F. Jacobs, 51, formerly of
Milford, DE in Miami, Florida for outstanding charges in Kent
County, Delaware for theft, forgery and conspiracy. Robert “Bobby”
Jacobs was the director of the now-defunct Slam Dunk to the Beach
high school basketball tournament in Sussex County, Delaware. As a
result of an investigation by the Delaware Department of Justice, a
14-count Kent County Superior Court indictment charged Bobby Jacobs
with one count of theft, 12 counts of forgery in the second degree
and one count of conspiracy in the second degree. These crimes
occurred from July 2003 to October 2004.
Investigators from the Delaware Department of Justice and the
Marshals Task force have been searching for Jacobs since August
2006. The investigation led to Miami, Florida. The Marshals Fugitive
Task Force in Miami conducted numerous interviews during the past
three months in an effort to locate and apprehend Jacobs.
At approximately 1:30 pm on today’s date, deputies apprehended the
defendant at a residence on the 200 block of NW 50th Ave. in Miami.
The deputies identified themselves and arrested the defendant
without incident.
Robert Jacobs is currently being held at the Dade County Jail
pending extradition to Delaware.
