As its 24th president, Nathan Marsh Pusey is credited with transforming Harvard into a modern research university, strengthening financial aid, and dramatically increasing diversity in the student body. In 1965 Pusey welcomed the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. to Appleton Chapel.
