This class covers new visualization functionality added to the MIPAV application. MIPAV is a platform-independent image processing and visualization program that assists researchers with the 3D segmentation, registration, and the visualization of biomedical imaging modalities. Demonstrations in the class include MIPAV’s 3D volume and surface rendering tools as well as dual-volume display with blending and opacity control. Other functionality, such as segmentation and registration are quickly covered to provide context with the visualization of the datasets. MIPAV is designed to visualize many imaging modalities including but not limited to microscopy, MRI, CT, Xray, ultrasound, ophthalmology, and others.
