(a) Formula. To every 100 gallons of alcohol add: Three pounds of salicylic acid, U.S.P., 1 pound of resorcinol (resorcin), U.S.P., and 1 gallon of bergamot oil, N.F. XI, or bay oil (myrcia oil), N.F. XI. (b) Authorized uses. (1) As a solvent: 111. Hair and scalp preparations. 210. External pharmaceuticals, not U.S.P. or N.F. (2) Miscellaneous uses: 812.
