It's always a pleasure to welcome First District families to our Nation's capital, and to help them experience the historic buildings and fascinating museums that are located here.
Access to the White House is more limited. Tours are available only for groups of 10 or more people, and are scheduled Tuesday through Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. If you live in West Virginia's First District, your group can request a tour through my office. Please visit the White House Visitors Office Web site for more information.
While the Capitol and White House are likely the most popular Washington attractions, there's plenty more to see and do. The House of Representatives has created a Touring Washington, D.C. page that lists these attractions and will link you to them. You also might want to visit the Washington Convention and Visitors Association, the official tourism Web site of Washington, D.C.
Finally, look here for Washington's current weather and forecast.
