Ingalls Development Foundation
May 12, 2008
Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. presents a check to the Ingalls Development Foundation for $215,174. The funds are for cancer prevention and early detection programs serving all groups, but also focusing on minority populations. The project was funded through the Fiscal Year 2008 Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education Subcommittee of the Appropriations Committee. The grant held particular significance, because it was a memorial to Bert Doctor. Doctor was a well known and admired champion of the underserved who recently lost his battle with cancer.
