Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP)

The EFMP is a mandatory enrollment program for family members of an active duty soldier with any medical, educational, or learning disability that requires special medical treatment, education, or counseling. The Army will consider the special needs of enrolled exceptional family members during the assignment process and will attempt to assign the soldier to an area where the needs of the family member can be met

The EFMP office is located in Darling Hall, Bldg. 33720, Suite 155, Army Community Service.  EFMP provides information and assistance to all soldiers and family members with special needs worldwide, especially within the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA).
Fort Gordon is only minutes away from Augusta, which offers a vast array of medical facilities that are available to meet your family member's unique need.

We host EFMP Support Group meetings on the first, second, and third Tuesdays of each month.  Meetings are held at the Family Outreach Center at 1000.

Special Needs Accommodation Process meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at the Family Outreach Center from 1400-1700.

On the fourth Tuesday of each month we host a Parent Information Exchange at the Family Outreach Center.  The Exchange begins at 1000.

If you have question or concerns about the EFMP at Fort Gordon you can contact us at (706) 791-4872/3579, DSN 780-4872/3579.

To obtain enrollment information contact the Family Medicine Clinic in Room 110 at Eisenhower Army Medical Center. The phone number is 706-787-9300 or DSN 773-9300.

To keep your medical records in order, we recommend the Special Care Organizational Record.
