Lincoln, Pryor, and Snyder Announce Funds for Central Arkansas Airports

Washington, DC – U.S. Senators Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor and Representative Vic Snyder today announced that Little Rock’s Adams Field and Saline County Regional Airport will receive grants from the U.S. Department of Transportation.

Adams Field will receive $1,881,330 to install taxiway centerline lights and in-pavement edge lights to improve night-time visibility. Saline County Regional Airport will receive $411,240 to install taxiway lighting.

"Our Arkansas airports should be as safe and technologically advanced as possible," said Lincoln.  "This funding will help ensure the safety of air passengers, providing pilots and airport staff with the measures they need to maintain operations during situations with low visibility."

"These funds will greatly enhance the overall safety and efficiency of Little Rock's Adams Field and Saline County Regional Airport," said Pryor. "It is a good example of how federal dollars can be reinvested into the local community."

"Air travel is a nice way to come and go in Arkansas and our passengers deserve the security to arrive and depart safely and smoothly," said Congressman Snyder.
