Representative Snyder Accepting Congressional Internship Applications

Washington, DC – United States Representative Vic Snyder (AR-02) announced today that his office is accepting applications from students in the Second Congressional District of Arkansas for month-long summer internships in his Washington, D.C. and Little Rock, Arkansas offices. The deadline for submitting 2008 summer internship applications is Friday, March 14, 2008.

Only a limited number of positions are available, and the application process is competitive. Students interested in applying must be enrolled in a post-high school educational system.  Those granted internships will receive a modest stipend. However, students interested in a Washington, D.C. internship should note that living expenses will likely exceed the stipend.

To request a summer internship application, students should contact Valerie McNeese at (202) 225-2506, or access the application form on Congressman Snyder's official website at http://www.house.gov/snyder/services/internships.htm.

Some students arrange with their school to receive academic credit for their internships. The school must coordinate with Congressman Snyder’s office if academic credit is being offered. The Office of Congressman Snyder also offers unpaid internships in the fall and spring semesters.

The Second Congressional District is comprised of Conway, Faulkner, Perry, Pulaski, Saline, Van Buren, White, and Yell counties.
