Little Rock, AR – Congressman Vic Snyder announced today a grant in the amount of $1.5 million for the Little Rock Port Authority.   The award from the Economic Development Administration is in anticipation of significantly increased commerce at the Little Rock Port.

The grant will be used to fund rehabilitation of the Port’s railroad track, and will double the size of its marshalling yard, giving it twice the capacity for rail cars.

“This grant marks a continuing investment in the future of commercial trade in Arkansas by allowing the state to fully utilize the Arkansas River,” said Congressman Vic Snyder.
