• On March 5, 1998, Secretary Richard W. Riley appeared before the Senate Subcommittee on Labor-HHS-ED Appropriations to testify on the FY 1999 Budget Request for the Department of Education.

• On March 25, 1998, Secretary Richard W. Riley appeared before the House Subcommittee on Labor-HHS-ED Appropriations to testify on the FY 1999 Budget Request for the Department of Education.

• During March and April of 1998, Education Department officials, and officials of the Special Institutions that are funded in the ED Appropriations Act, will appear before the House Subcommittee on Labor-HHS-ED Appropriations to testify on the FY 1999 budget request.
