Krasl Art Fair

The Krasl Art Fair on the Bluff was recently ranked among the best shows in the country by readers of Sunshine Artist Magazine, America's premier show and festival guide. Located in St. Joseph, Michigan's Lake Bluff Park, this fine arts fair began as a one-day "clothes-line" art fair in the early 60s and has evolved into one of Michigan's best two-day art fairs. Over 70,000 people are estimated to attend the Krasl Art Fair, many coming from out of state. A juried art fair with over 500 applicants, the Krasl Art Fair attracts artists from all over the country, providing buyers the opportunity to purchase original paintings, prints, drawings, jewelry, pottery sculpture, photographs, fine craft items and much more. Its goals are to provide high quality art to the Midwest, provide a nurturing environment to artists, and to be considered one of the best fine art, fine crafts fairs in the country. In 1999, there 211 artists from 25 states were represented. Managed by a group of dedicated, long-term volunteers, the Art Fair will celebrate its 39th anniversary in the year 2000.

Project documentation comprises two chapters from the book On the Banks of the Old St. Joe, by Kathryn Szhultz Zerler, and a brochure.
