Purpose
Measure winter beach elevation and grain size in Liberty Bay. Deploy in-situ
sampling devices in Dogfish Creek.
Information to be Derived
Cross-shore position and elevation; bulkhead location, extent, and
characteristics; sediment grain size; dissolved concentrations of wastewater
chemicals.
Summary
Eighteen beaches were sampled over a 4-hour window around low tide (-2.5 ft MLLW) along the north shore of Liberty Bay from the city of Poulsbo to Point Bolin.
Beach elevations were measured by Vivian Queija (NMD/Western Geographic Science Center) and grain size samples were collected by Renee Takesue (GD/WCMG).
Digital photographs with scale bar were used to document grain size when grains exceeded medium pebbles.
