Functional Description |
DCCECE provides the following services:Registering and licensing of day care providersCoordinating criminal background checks on day care employeesManaging the Special Nutrition ProgramDay care funding (vouchers)Families receive day care vouchers through one of the following means:A Division of County Operations caseworker deems TEA (Temporary Employment Assistance, TANF) families eligible for benefits. The caseworker uses the WISE system to enter the KIDS system to authorize a child care voucher for each child. Low-income working families apply through DCCECE. A DCCECE eligibility specialist works with the family to select a participating provider. A day care voucher is generated and given to the selected day care facility.Through touch-tone telephone, modem, or paper bill, the day care facility bills for the services provided. DCCECE reviews and approves the billing and the Department of Finance and Administration sends the payment. |
