FY-2003 EQIP Contract Information
The following three maps display information on
Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) contracts that were obligated in
fiscal year 2003, including funding for the Ground and Surface Water
Conservation and Klamath Basin components of EQIP.
This voluntary program addresses both local natural resource needs and national resource priorities. The funding shares the
cost with farmers and ranchers for installing conservation practices to improve
animal waste management, irrigation water management, grazing land, soil erosion
and sediment control, and other resource concerns. In FY-2003, NRCS allocated
more than $483 million to enter more than 30,000 contracts into the program.
