Washington Utility Rate Assistance
- Municipal utilities in Seattle and Tacoma have low-income and
senior/handicapped discount rates; Seattle also has a low-income
program for utility emergencies; public utility districts in at
least five counties have senior/handicapped reductions. Examples
of rate reductions and discounts include a $5.00 monthly bill
discount, a 10 percent rate reduction and a 50 percent rate reduction
for seniors, disabled and other low income in the City of Seattle.
