The Federal Parent Locator Service (FPLS) has become an invaluable tool, providing the child support community with accurate and timely information about noncustodial parents involved in child support cases. This document provides information that can be used to increase collaboration between child support and child welfare agencies in the States by educating child welfare staff about how they can access information from the FPLS via their Stateâ¿¿s Parent Locator Service, to help locate individuals who have or may have parental rights to a child receiving services from the child welfare agency. The handout also provides information regarding referring IV-E cases for full child support services and when it might be better to request limited location information.

DCL-07-32, New publication which details how to increase the automated use of electronic information to establish and modify child support orders

This report reviews findings of a demonstration to use existing automation to establish and modify child support orders for several jurisdictions in Arizona, Colorado, Maine, Tennessee and West Virginia. Automated data used in this demonstration comes from the State and National Directory of New Hires and State Workforce Agency. The report lays out recommended steps States and local child support offices should consider in developing a plan to make better use of automated information services in their establishment and modification processes.

This report provides highlights, results and lessons learned from a variety of Section 1115 and Special Improvement Project grant projects involving collaboration between child support enforcement agencies and the judicial system. The grant projects demonstrated that enhanced collaboration between child support agencies and the courts generally improved child support program efficiencies and/or provided better services to parents.

This Dear Colleague Letter announces the publication of the Medical Support Collaboration Meetings Summary May - 2006 that is a summary of the two meetings hosted by the Administration for Children and Families in May 2006. At these meetings, Medicaid, State Children¿s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP), Child Support Enforcement, Tribal Child Support Enforcement, and Child Welfare State directors from each State developed a plan of action to address identified issues and to assess progress in implementing their plans of action developed at the 2005 meetings.
